RULE CHANGES: The following rules will remain unchanged throughout the event. The decision of the tournament committee will be final in all matters. All contestants must read and sign the entry form. Your signature on this form will constitute a certification that the contestant has read and understands the rules, and entry form participant agreement, release, and acknowledgement of risk.
SPORTSMANSHIP: All Local, State, Federal, Coast Guard and Parks and Wildlife Regulations shall apply at all times during the Tournament. Contestants must have a valid Louisiana Fishing license (unless exempt) and another form of identification as required by law on their person. Any contestant who displays poor sportsmanship, violates these rules, or violates any state or local game laws will be disqualified. All contestants are expected to follow high standards of sportsmanship, courtesy, safety and conservation. Encroachment is considered a sportsmanship rule.
ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES: At no time during the tournament fishing hours are any alcoholic beverages or drugs other than prescription to be allowed in the boat or to be consumed while on the water. Violation of this rule will result in immediate disqualification and forfeiture of all entry fees.
ELIGIBILITY: Participation in the 2011 Pro Bass Challenge will be open to anyone 18 years and older and in good standing with the Pro Bass Challenge. There will be a Pro-Angler Division and a Co-Angler Division, when you sign up please sign up with a Co-Angler, their will be a draw for Co-Anglers, that Co-Angler you sign up with will not be fishing with his sign up partner. All Pro Sports Players will be in that draw pool, and everyone must pay there entry before they are permitted to fish.
REGISTRATION: Entries may be mailed to Pro Bass Challenge, 5315 Antioch Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA 70817. Entries will be taken up until 6:00pm on Friday Febuary 25. All contestants MUST check in Friday Febuary 25, registration at Mockler Beverage Complex Reiger Road , between 3:00pm and 6:pm and attend the Tournament Briefing at 6:30pm immediately following registration. All anglers will receive a tournament packet and weigh in instructions and sponsor goodies.
ENTRY FEE: The entry fee is $400.00 for Pro-Angler and $200.00 for Co-Angler . This covers entry into the tournament and the big bass pot. The tournament will be held regardless of weather conditions and there will be no refunds of entry fees. Entries will be accepted up until Friday Febuary 25, 6:00pm
TOURNAMENT HEADQUARTERS: Gerry Lane Mitsubishi, Reiger Road
BOATS AND MOTORS: There is no horsepower maximum, however, no engine may exceed the BIA horsepower rating for the boat on which it is used. All boats are required to have aerated livewells in functional condition. All boats are to be provided by the Invited Team Member. No aluminum jump boats allowed.
TACKLE AND EQUIPMENT: Only artificial lures may be used. No live bait or prepared bait is permitted with the exception of pork rinds and liquid attractants. Only one rod may be used at a time. Other rods may be in the boat ready for use, however, every cast and retrieve must be completed before another cast is made. Rods may not exceed 8 feet in length from rod butt to rod tip. No trolling with the big engine is permitted.
PERMITTED FISHING WATERS: Fishing is restricted to the navigable waters of the Atchafalaya Basin, South I-10. You may fish the east side of the Basin known as the Belle River area, and go as far south as you like,access to fishing waters not accessaible year round, and gated pipline canals not fishable by everyone is off limits. The tournament will originate from Gerrry Lane Mitsubishi, Reiger Road. .Promotional clothing can be worn for all days of tournament. . No fishing is allowed within 50 yards of another anchored or tied tournament boat with the trolling motor out of the water, without that contestant's permission. Launch sites will be the following, and you will be allowed to trailer to these sites. Belle River Public Landing, Adams Landing, Dorions west side, and Bayou Segnette State Park.
FISHING HOURS: Will be announced at tournament briefing Friday Febuary 25,2010 This meeting is mandatory:The check in and check out points will also be disclosed. It is the responsibility of the contestant to obtain this information from the Tournament Director. --PRACTICE-- No guides may be hired for the practice days During the official practice days and competition days a (contestant must not have the assistance or advice from anyone to ate bass except from another entered contestant in this tournament,Practice partners other than entered contestants must be approved by the Tournament Director, Cell phones are prohibited unless it's and emergency, and you must use your speakerphone for conversation with officals: Pairings will be done by draw only.
OFF LIMITS: None, meaning the days that you may practice.
WEIGH-IN: Each contestant must be checked in at tournament headquarters by 3:00pm tSaturday Febuary 26 and 27. Immediately after check in, your boat must be driven to the drive through weigh In. Tournament staff will be on hand to assist you through the weigh in procedure. Each contestant is required to leave from and return to a specified check point. Any contestant returning to the check point late will be penalized at the rate of one-half pound per minute up to 15 minutes. After 15 minutes no weight will be allowed. Weigh bags will be provided and you must use the official tournament weigh in bags. It is up to each individual team to determine exact time with tournament director. Time for this tournament will be Central Standard Time
SCORING: Only largemouth, smallmouth, Kentucky spotted bass and black bass will be weighed in Each contestant may weigh in five (5) fish per day with a minimum of 14 inches in length, measured on a flat board, mouth dosed, tail compressed to achieve greatest over all length. The official measuring board is the Bingham Check-It Stik A dead fish penalty of 2 ounces per fish will be deducted from the total weight. Any contestant bringing more than five (5) fish to the scales will be disqualified. Tournament standings will be determined by the total weight for the competition days of the tournament. Any contestant weighing in a fish shorter than the legal tournament length will be assessed a one (1) pound penalty plus ,he loss of the short fish it is the responsibility of each contestant to keep no more than his/her limit of five (5) fish In a livewell. When the sixth keeper is caught, the contestant must imme diately cull at that time, before another cast is made. If more than five (5) fish are present in the livewell during a boat inspection, you will be disqualified from the tournament.
PROTESTS: All protests must be submitted in writing within 15 minutes of the final weigh in each day.
POLYGRAPH: All contestants, winners and non-winners, are subject to a polygraph test Failure to submit to a polygraph test will result in immediate disqualification. All contestants agree by their signature on the tournament application to accept the results of the polygraph test given at the tournament site, regardless of results.
SAFETY: Each contestant is required to wear a Coast Guard Approved chest type life preserver. This preserver must be worn any time the combustible engine is operative and the kill switch must be attached to the driver. In case of an emergency or mechanical breakdown, contestants may take their catch, get into another contestant's boat or non contestant's boat and return to the host marina. No contestant will be allowed to compete and the entry fee is forfeited if the above safety rules are not strictly adhered to.
CONSERVATION: This is a primary concern of the tournament officials. Each contestant must make every effort to maintain fish in good condition as so tournament officials can release as many live releasable fish back into the lake.
OFFICIAL DECISIONS: All applications for entry in the Pro Bass Challenge, determination of winners and rights to awards and prizes, and interpretation of all rules are subject to the sole approval and discretion of the tournament officials. DECISIONS BY THE TOURNAMENT OFFICIALS ARE FINAL.
RIGHTS OF SPONSORS: The sponsor of the tournament expressly reserves the right to accept or reject any entry form or contest application.
VIOLATIONS: All bass caught by contestants fishing will be disqualified if any of the said contestants are found to be in violation of any tournament rules and regulations.
BOAT PARKING: Their will be no boat parking as in the past, you will need to make arrangements with Co-Angler as to were to meet for each tournament day.
BOAT OPERATION AND EXPENSE: Boat operation will be the responsibility of the Invited PBC Team Angler, fuel expense will be the responsibility of the PBC Team Angler.
