2009 PRO BASS CHALLENGE GOES PRO-AM

The dates of TBD have been officially announced for the 2009 prestigious  Pro Bass Challenge in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Where over 100 Pro-Anglers and Co-Anglers and Sports Celebrites from the NFL and  Major League Baseball  gather to compete and fish the vast Atchafalaya basin, for Charity.  THE FALLEN HEROES OF LAW ENFORCEMENT,

This charitable Pro-Am event where current and former Pro-Sports  players  from the NFL Major League Baseball,  and  coaches are the amateurs is staged yearly as a pre- season fishing event that also raises money for the Pro Bass Challenge Foundation , and "Fallen Heroes" . Our Presenting Title Sponsor is Saturn of Baton Rouge A Gerry Lane Enterprise, in association with Ascension Marine, and Ranger Boats,  Corporate sponsors are , Coca-Cola, Mockler Beverage Budweiser, Yamaha Outboards, Jones Creek Cafe & Oyster Bar,  Louisiana Value, AEP River Operations, The City of Baton Rouge, Southern Surplus Services LLC, Guraranty Broadcasting, River Center,  BRCVB, Scrap Connection and a host of great  associate sponsors. The popular catch and release fishing tournament which crowns the best bass fisherman in the pro-sports category, put's current and former NFL football players , Major League Baseball Players, coaches of the NFL, against each other, while paired with pro anglers from the Ranger-Boats Pro Teams from across the nation, an invitied Pro-Anglers from our region.  We expect to have another outstanding field of Pro Anglers and Pro-Sports Players" said George Shaheen, Jr. "the Executive Director. Again this year is the Live Weigh-Ins at the Downtown River Center in association with the Outdoor Sponsor  Expo.

The 2007 Pro Bass Challenge was a terrific success. We hope everyone had lots of fun. We certainly did. Here are the tournament results and a few photos for you to enjoy.

For you Ranger team members this event is by invitation only and is a full-fledged big money tournament to determine the best bass fisherman among Team Ranger Anglers. The top Pro-Sports Entry  will win a fully rigged Ranger Bass Boat powered by Yamaha Outboards, the Pro-Angler will receive $15,000.00 in cash.   Both divisions also have cash and prizes awarded.   Cash Prizes in the Pro-Angler divison may change based on Sponsor additions.

The Downtown River Center Exhibition Hall will be the site of the daily weigh-in filmed live Saturday and Sunday for both local and national media groups. The excitement of professional bass fishing being brought into over 1 million homes per day is enough to keep anyone's focus.
